Field Day 2026 Results
Thanks to everyone that came out to Field Day! Whether you helped set up, tear down, hopped on the radio for a bit, or even just came out to say "hi" we are very grateful you were there and we couldn't have done it without you!
This year we ended with 438 phone contacts and 339 digital contacts (which count as 2 points each). That gives us a score of 2,232 including the power multiplier.
We also earned 1,185 bonus points, bringing us to a total preliminary score of 3,417!
As some will tell you though, it's not all about the points as "Field Day isn't a contest". We had several new hams come out as well as some who weren't licensed yet and they got the chance to make a contact and learn more about ham radio. It was also great to see all of the club members who came out and to catch up with one another outside of our normal monthly meetings. We also got some good practice for fully deploying the trailer and all of its capabilities should we ever need to do so for a real emergency.

The club's first Field Day was in 2003 at the Nixa Community Center. 2003 & 2004 were held at the Nixa Community Center. In 2005 we moved to Fountain Plaza where Field Day was a staple for many years. Other locations for Field Day have included High Pointe Elementary, Espy Elementary and the Christian County property in Ozark near the theatre. I could find no record of Field Day scores being reported to the ARRL for 2006, 2014, 2019 or 2022. I remember us having a field day in 2006 but it was small and the score was not reported.
Some highlights include Alltel bringing out their 100' crank up tower trailer a couple of years for our HF beam antenna, us using the Department of Public Safety mobile command bus for several years. One year we had emergency tactical vehicles from several SWAT teams at FD. Convoy of Hope had their communications bus at FD for several years at Fountain Plaza. One year we used the Missouri Highway Patrol DWI command post along with the Department of Public Safety mobile command post for our operations stations.
Since completing the club's mobile communications trailer in 2015, we have used it to house our Field Day stations.
